Our Purpose
Sand Creek Elementary is an established neighborhood school that has a strong partnership with the community and the Sand Creek Family Center. At Sand Creek, we strive to ensure continuous improvement in student achievement through a safe and positive learning environment.
Throughout the school year, Sand Creek utilizes the school action plan as a means to focus efforts toward improving student achievement. While there is still work to be done on raising student achievement, Sand Creek students have made great gains in academic growth according to the Longitudinal Student Growth Model measurement used by the Colorado Department of Education.
Our Educators
The Sand Creek staff is a committed group of educators who continually study the best instructional practices and go above and beyond to meet students' needs. Classroom teachers and administrators meet on a monthly basis to align curriculum, review student achievement data, make improvements and give feedback on the progress of various educational programs. Sand Creek values high quality teachers and offers many opportunities for professional development to all staff members.
Sand Creek's highly qualified educational staff uses Write Tools for effective writing, McMillan/McGraw-Hill "Treasures" Curriculum for reading and Math Central Curriculum for math.

Sand Creek Elementary received an Award of Safety Excellence for our strong support of the HSD2 Safety Program in December 2008.
Participating in the Harvest of Love Food Drive, Sand Creek Elementary Staff and Students donated 2,034 pounds of food this school year!
